Pastor Allison has served as Senior Pastor since July 2017. She is originally from Fort Wayne, Indiana and most recently served in Auburn, Indiana for 9 years. Allison and her husband, Josh, have 3 children: Calleigh, Mackenna, and Nathanael.
Allison received her Bachelor's degree in Christian Ministry from Indiana Wesleyan University and her Masters of Divinity from Ashland Theological Seminary.
Allison enjoys coffee, reading, learning to ask good questions, crafting, and spending time with her family.
Jesse has served as Director of Community and Family Engagement at Asbury since August of 2018. He is originally from Monroe, IN and has served in Youth Ministry since 2010. Jesse and his wife, Jennie, have three kids: Tait, Alexyn, and Noelle
Jesse was an auto mechanic until he felt called to ministry. Since then he has served as a Youth Pastor and in a couple of para-church organizations doing outreach. He is passionate about seeing students find out who Jesus is and grow in their relationship in Him.
In his free time, Jesse loves spending time with his family, swimming, golfing, meeting new people, coffee, cheering on the Colts, and coming up with meaningless questions that make people think.
Denise has worked at Asbury as the Administrative Assistant since 1999. She has many different tasks that she does for her job, and she enjoys each one. She loves to interact with people and to show God’s love and kindness to the people of Asbury and the community. She is married to Kevin, and they have 4 kids and a son-in-law that God has blessed them with. She enjoys being outside, reading and doing things for her family.
Sharon has been directing the Asbury Chancel Choir for 21 years. She and her husband, Lee, moved to Portland in 1977 and became members of Asbury and the choir. She grew up in the Friends Church (Quaker) in Newport, Indiana. Hermusic degree was earned at Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana. She was the high school band and choir director for six years at North Vermillion High School.
She retired from teaching music and beginning band in the Jay School Corporation in 2011.
She feels that the choir is a vital part of our traditional church service each week, and they try to touch someone in the congregation with their music or message. The choir is small now but they are a dedicated group that does a very nice job. Her daughter Rebecca is now a member of the choir as well.
Heather joined the Asbury family in 2006 and began serving as Kids Hope Director in August of 2012. In her position, she serves as a liaison between Asbury Church and General Shanks Elementary School, working with the teachers and staff to match at-risk students with amazing mentors! Heather is passionate about ensuring that every child feels valued and loved, and she has a special gift for helping children identify their unique gifts and abilities! She, herself, has been a Kids Hope mentor since 2006, and she looks forward to many more years of mentoring. When she is not working with Kids Hope, you can find Heather sharing another of her passions with local kids -- art! She teaches art at a local faith-based school. Heather is married to Jason (another creative person) and has a daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter, as well as six wonderful stepchildren. The Maitlens love music and movies and enjoy game nights when gathered together.
Linda has served as our organist for over 10 years. Her music can be heard weekly in our 8:30 am worship service.
